Apply to Lowcountry Local First’s Growing New Farmer’s Program


Live in the Charleston area and interested in becoming a farmer? Lowcountry Local First’s Growing New Farmers Program is now accepting applicants for 2018 apprenticeships. Tiger Corner Farms is proud to once again sponsor this important initiative that focuses on growing the local food system. Applications close Friday, Feb. 16, so get yours in!

The Growing New Farmers Program provides introductory level classroom and hands-on training in farm production and business planning. It offers optional apprenticeship placement with a mentor farmer, where apprentices receive invaluable extended job-based training for the world of small to mid-sized sustainable farming. Since 2010 GNFP has trained 167 new farmers and food systems leaders in the Lowcountry.
